Secretary Role

Help keep the Porter County Indiana Young Democrats organized, informed, and moving forward by documenting meetings and supporting leadership communication.

Expected Time Commitment

  •  Two meetings per month (about 1 hour each)
  •  General Membership Meeting
  •  Executive Board Meeting
  •  Arrive 10–15 minutes early to ensure punctual start and end times

Duration of Position

6 months to 1 year (flexible depending on availability and organizational needs).

Position Goal

The Secretary transcribes minutes of meetings and provides written reports for the Executive Committee and general membership. The role also exercises duties assigned under the Constitution and Bylaws and as delegated by the President to ensure effective communication and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write detailed notes for regular membership meetings
  • Write detailed notes for executive board meetings
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
  • Maintain organized records of discussions and decisions
