Vice President Role

Support and help lead the Porter County Indiana Young Democrats by coordinating meetings, programs, and stepping in to guide the organization when needed.

Expected Time Commitment

  • Two meetings per month (about 1 hour each)
  • General Membership Meeting
  • Executive Board Meeting
  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early to ensure punctual start and end times

Duration of Position

6 months to 1 year (flexible depending on availability and organizational needs).

Position Goal

The Vice President presides over the organization in the absence of the President, oversees schedules and presentations for general membership meetings and programs, is notified of committee meetings, and assumes the presidency if the President is removed, resigns, or is unable to serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead meetings when the President is not present
  • Oversee schedules and presentations for general membership meetings
  • Coordinate programs outside regular meetings
  • Support committees and organizational initiatives
