Treasurer Role

Help protect transparency and accountability for the Porter County Indiana Young Democrats by managing finances and supporting responsible civic leadership.

Expected Time Commitment

  •  Two meetings per month (about 1 hour each)
  •  General Membership Meeting
  •  Executive Board Meeting
  •  Arrive 10–15 minutes early to ensure punctual start and end times
  •  Work at your own pace around your own schedule

Duration of Position

6 months to 1 year (flexible depending on availability and organizational needs).

Position Goal

The Treasurer establishes procedures for handling disbursements and expenditures, tracks and reports all receipts, maintains financial records, prepares filing reports for the State Board of Elections when required, and ensures financial transparency for all PCIYD members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create procedures for handling disbursements and expenditures
  • Track and report all receipts and disbursements
  • Maintain organized financial records
  • Prepare filing reports for the State Board of Elections
  • Ensure financial records are open to inspection by any PCIYD member
